Ingredients
Before you start whipping up a storm in the kitchen, make sure you have the following ingredients:
- 1.5 cups of flour
- ¾ of a cup of cornstarch
- 1.5 tsp of baking powder
- 1.5 cups of cold club soda
- 0.5 tsp kosher salt
- ¼ of a teaspoon of white pepper
- Canola oil
- 1lb deveined shrimp (shells removed): prawns can also be used for this dish
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- 1tbsp of sugar
- 1tbsp of sriracha
Instructions
- Heat a pan with oil to 375 degrees
- Combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and baking powder and then mix the shrimp in, dusting off the excess mixture
- Whisk the club soda with the flour mixture, dip the shrimp in, and add to the pan
- Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes until golden brown
- Combine the mayonnaise, sugar, and sriracha and add the shrimp, tossing the ingredients together before serving
